Research Topics

Research interest covers wide range of topics in electric power engineering, control engineering, soft computing, and artificial computation. Such these topics are: classical/optimal power flow, economic load dispatch, unit commitment, load forecasting, power system security and quality, power system dynamics, power system protection, power system modeling and simulation, optimal control and automation, renewable/green/sustainable energy and their storage elements, smart cities and modern interconnected networks, etc. We deal with traditional and non-traditional optimization algorithms as well as involvement of artificial computation aided by fuzzy systems, artificial neural networks (ANNs), and support vector machines (SVMs).

IEEE Conferences

Our group is very active and continuously participate in different conferences held by IEEE/IEEE Canada. Some of these annual conferences are IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE) and IEEE Electrical Power and Energy Conferenc (EPEC).

Great Researchers!

Our bright PhD and MSc students have wide knowledge in different studies of electric power engineering, control engineering, soft computing, and artificial computation. Each one of them has enough potential to contribute in his/her area/field of expertise. Through two highly organized and monitored streams, they work together and collaborate between each other in a good and isolated study environment, but most of the time each one of them is assigned with some specific topics and prospective goals that need to be achieved for her/his graduation.
