The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

On March 21, Dalhousie University will observe the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
First recognized by the United Nations General Assembly in 1966, March 21 is the anniversary of the Sharpeville massacre, in which South African police killed 69 people during a peaceful protest against apartheid.
